Brand New Friend
The title of the book that I am reading is "Brand New Friend", written by Mike Gayle.
In the beginning of this book we learn that the main characters, Rob and Ashley are boyfriend and girlfriend who live in two different cities. Ashley lives in Manchester and Rob lives in London. One night Ashley gets so mad at Rob that she forces him to move into her apartment in Manchester by threatening to end their relationship if he refuses. However, Rob soon realizes that he is having trouble making new friends. Ashley's friends try to help him by making him go to parties and hang out around town but it doesn't work. One night as he is shopping in a store he meets a very nice young woman called Jo. He knows that Ashley will never approve of him being friends with another lady which leads him to tell Ashley that the friend is actually called Joe. Later in the story, Ashley and "Joe" meet up for dinner and when Ashley sees her, she realizes that his best friend is a lady. After a long time spent ignoring each other Ashley finally accepts that Robs best friend is a lady and learns that they were nothing more than friends.
Aspire: One's ambition to achieve a goal: "I aspired to get a best friend".
