William Kamkwamba and Bryan Mealer



"The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind "- By William Kamkwamba and Bryan Mealer is a book about a boy and his life. The main character is William Kamkwamba. The story takes place in Malawi in the not far past. In the beginning of the book William is a little boy who lives in a small town. He talks about his father, and a little about his grandfather.His father is a brave and tall man. He also talks about the unknown creatures in the forest that he lives near to. After a year or two of his life his father stars drinking and starts spending a lot of his money. Williams family starts becoming poor, and don't have  money for food. After a few months of drinking he gets advice from his friend to stop drinking, and he did. When he stops drinking, he had a lot of money for food. The hole family was happy again.  Few months after that, they had finance problems. One night Williams uncle comes to visit, and offers Williams father a job to make tobacco. Williams father knew in what kind of problem he was in, and accepted the job. Few weeks later they moved to a village also in Malawi. They started living in a big house with five members in  it, and a dog. The dog gets attached  to William and they become best friends. William starts going to hunt with his dog and his cousin. After a years living there his uncle dies. The business becomes his eldest sons. Now Williams father is working for Williams uncles eldest son.  The buisness starts falling, and tobacco stars growing less.

1. Salivate: to produce saliva
In a sentence: I start to salivate when I'm hungry.

2. Fermented: a group of any living organisms
In a sentence : I like learning new things about ferments.
