Charles Dickens is one of the most famous English novel writters.

     Charles Dickens was born on February 7th, 1812. His grew up in a very poor family, so his father got imprisoned for debt. Charles and his brothers and sisters had to work in a factory to get money for their father to get out of jail. This left a huge trace on Charles. He never talked about it with anyone except for his wife and very close friends. From 1924 till 1927, Dickens attended a school in London. At the age of 15, he found a job as an office clerk at an attorney's. 

     Charles had many failed love relationships and many jobs. Most of the time he worked as a shorthand reporter. Charles was a full time novelist from 1837. Dickens' was the foremost writter in the Victorian era and some of his best-selling books were "A Tale of Two Cities", "Hard Times", "Nicholas Nichelby" and "Oliver Twist" (listed by popularity). He and his wife Catherine had 10 children. Charles lived an exciting life for 58 years, when he died on June 9th 1870.
