Going Solo

Title: Going Solo
Author: Roald Dahl
Number of pages: 205

1. What facts did you enjoy learning about? Explain why you chose this particular part.
Usually, I don't like snakes and aligators and similar animals. In the middle of the book snakes are very common and described perfectly. I really enjoyed learning about their defects and benefits, which are poison which aren't. Also the author made the ''story'' about snakes very ineteresting with many exiting actions!
2. Did you discover anything that might help you outside of the school?
Yrs, I did. Imagine this: you are adult and you love adventures. You decide to go to jungle and learn about wild animals, but instead of learning snake wants to attack you. You don't know how to defense yourself and you start to panic. But then you remember you read a book called ''Going Solo'' and you remember snake's defects and you surrvive thanks to the book! :)
3. What else would you like learn about the topic?
I think I'm getting boring with the snakes. So i would like to learn more about his family. In the book it doesn't describe it that much. Also one interesting fact is that the main character actually doesn't have a name. He does but it doesen't mention in the book. It is an autobiography. He describes he's adventures.
4. Pick a tehnical word, write the sentence you found it in and the page number it's from, explain the meaning.

ANAESTHETIST

Sentence: Having at this moment no eyelids to open and shut, I hoped the anaesthetist wouldn't start thinking that his famous new wonder anaesthetist had put me to sleep when it hadn't.
Page: 109.
Meaning: An anaestherist is used to temporarily reduce or take away sensation, usually so that otherwise painful procedures or surgery can be performed.
