Warrior Cats: Moonrise is about 4 cat clans whose home is endangered by humans. The clans are Thunderclan, Riverclan, Windclan, and Shadowclan. Each clan has a different environment and prey that it hunts. The humans are building roads through their homes, so Starclan (cat heaven) sends 4 cats a prophecy to find a new home. Those 4 cats are Brambleclaw (Thunderclan), Feathertail, (Riverclan), Tawnypelt (Shadowclan), and Crowpaw (Windclan). Squirrelpaw, Brambleclaw's friend, finds out and decides to follow him. Feathertail's brother, Stormfur, doesn't want anything to happen to Feathertail, so he decides to go with her. That makes 6 cats.
In this book, the 6 cats journey into the mountains to find the new home. They meet a tribe of cats that is unfamiliar to them, and they say that Stormfur will save them from a mountain lion that takes cats from the tribe almost every day. They keep Stormfur prison and force him to fight the mountain lion. When it arrives, he is shoved into a cave with it, but his sister won't leave him there and joins him in the fight.
