The Help and Hiding Edith

First I have finished the book The Help! It truly was just one of the best books I have ever read! I just love it so much! I also just learned so much about this time in Mississippi where black women had to work for white women. I love the characters Abileen, Minny, and Skeeter are such strong people. I will not tell if the book was published or what happens in the end but if they published the book they can lose their jobs people can find out who the maids are. But I am not telling because you need to read the book!!! But in my opinion I actually never thought that the ending would end like the way it was I thought totally different. BUT READ THIS BOOK! IT WILL CHANGED YOUR LIFE!

Hiding Edith:

Auothr: Kathy Kacer (write about Ediths story)
Genere: A true story non-fiction

So far I have read a few pages of this book and it seems like it will be really good. Hiding Edith is about a girl named Edith who is Jewish living with her family in Vienna, Austria it is May 1938. Edith is walking with her father back home but the Nazi soldiers have stopped them and asked for papers her father hands them the papers (This is a round up). But they are lucky and get out of it because the Nazi solider recognized her father because he does soccer with him. The solider tells them to get out of Vienna. At home they start packing they need to leave or else the Nazi's will take them.
Now it is May 1940 Belgium. Edith and her family had traveled there because at that moment it was safe. But now it is being invaded by the Germans. It is early in the morning the Nazi soldiers are pounding on the door. They want Edith's father. They take him. Edith's mother goes with him so she can try and get him out of it. While Edith's father and mother are gone her sister Therese takes care of her. Later on her mother comes back but no father. She tries again the next day and she comes back with Edith's father! Her mother was able to give them money to let him go. So now that Belgium is being invaded they have decided to go to Southern France. Other place like in Paris the Nazi's are there but they are not in Southern France it is free. Edith really has not liked moving from a country to another it is just very tiring and she just wants to stay in one place.

It is now February 1943 Beaumont-de-Lomagne France. So for a while Southern France has been a free zone but now the French president agrees to join the Nazi's. So now it is not safe there. But as Edith and Therese are going to school with another friend, her friend tells them about a house run by the Jewish Scouts of France and they say it is safe. They have been taking in Jewish children for several years and have protected them very well. Edith and Therese are going to talk to there mother about it.
