Skulduggery Pleasant: Death Bringer by Derek Landy, Genre Action/Thriller

Over this October break I read the sixth book in a series of books written by Derek Landy. It is a magical book about sorcerers. The main characters are, Skulduggery Pleasant, Valykrie Cain, Ghastly Bespoke, Tanith Low and Fletcher Renn. All of these characters have amazing magical abilities, for example, Tanith Low is an Adept who can walk on walls and open locks by saying open. Valykrie Cain is an Elemental who can shoot fire from her hands, manipulate the air, water and earth. Fletcher is the last known Teleporter he can teleport into wherever he has been just by thinking about it.

In this story the characters Valykrie Cain and Skulduggery Pleasant try to prevent the Necromancers from killing half of the world's population. OK, wait, let me backtrack a bit. The Necromancers are a group of sorcerers who get their powers from death. They all keep an object that they put all of their power into and it sucks up death wherever they go. Their ultimate aim is to find a Necromancer so powerful that he or she  can take the life from three billion people and block the life and death cycle rendering all of the other three billion humans immortal. They call this person the death bringer. Their particular death bringer is called Melochondria, she has been changed so that whenever she gets a surge of power it will be put on repeat making her the most powerful necromancer in the world.

I will not tell you what happens in the end but you can kind of guess that the good guys win. I really enjoyed this book, first because it is the sixth book in literally my favourite series, second because it is full of fighting, action and obviously gore. This book often changes perspective, for example in one chapter it is from Melochondria's view and in the next its from Valykrie Cain's view. I would rate this book 9/10 mainly because it's plot is a little predictive but apart from that it's a great book. I would really recommend that action and mystery lovers should read this. I hope you enjoyed my book review, thanks for reading!
