The setting of my book is in New York City in the Dakota apartment building. The story is set in present time and most of the characters live in the penthouse and they are rich so they have a stone mermaid hanging upside down from a hook by the staircase. They also have live pygmy sharks in there coffee table and a pink chair with hooves that either oinks or sequels when you sit in it.
