When You Reach Me

I read 157 pages of the book called "When You Reach Me" by Rebecca Stead.
The novel takes place in the sunny months of spring of 1979, in a popular, fast paced and busy city of New York. The setting of the story is in the main character middle school. The school has many halls filled with lockers and classrooms. There is a huge cafeteria with a store inside that sells food and drinks for students and teachers. Some classrooms are bigger than others. The gym is very spacious. It has basketball hoops, volleyball nets and inside soccer goals for students who want to play. The story also takes place in the main characters flat. Her home appears to be really busy and welcoming. It is a place where friends would gather, talk to each other and share new ideas or experiences. It is also a place where the main character's mom is practicing  for a TV show that she is going to be in.
