Title: Holes
Author: Louis Sachar
Pages I Read: 84 / 253
Setting: Camp Green Lake, Texas
For the book
report I started reading this book called Holes by Louis Sachar. It is about
this boy called Stanley Yelnats, who got accused for stealing something and
arrested, and got the choice in between going to a correction camp or
going to jail. He ended up going to the camp, which is called Camp Green
Lake, where boys his age dig holes that are 5 ft deep and 5 ft wide in every
way. So far, I have read 84 pages of the book.
There aren't many clues to the mystery, but there is one that I found quite interesting, and it is when they say that at the camp, the boys dig holes to "build character", but the main character starts to think that the camp is using them to find something important that has been buried where they are digging.
I can't wait to read more and see what will happen next.
