Yes, if you are wondering, am indeed reading Ashley's book report book: "Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children."
So, the story begins when a the main character's grandfather gets murdered, or killed by some sort of beast (I haven't figured out what it is), and his grandfather had warned him before. He decides to investigate this, and on his birthday, he receives his grandfather's journal. In it, there is a letter to him, which has nothing to do with the beast that killed him, but instead, how much he misses the protagonist. Later, he gets on a boat and and starts to go to the island that his grandfather told him to go to to be safe.
