Wesley the Owl

79/227

Stacey O'Brien

The main characters in the book I've been reading, are Wesley, the Owl, Stacey O'Brien, Stacey's friend, Wendy, and Courtney (Wendy's dog). Wesley is a very smart and fun Owl, he is very curious and interesting. I find it gross how Stacey explains in the book how Wesley eats his mice,  how she gets the mice alive, and how Wesley coughs up these gross pellets. Stacey is a very responsible, kind, and fun person. Wesley really considers her as his mother. Wesley is really unique because as Stacey states in the book that Owls usually avoid water because mice have all the necessary things Owls need, but Wesley loves water, he puts his head under the faucet every time she turns it on. "Wesley had discovered water. He loved it. In fact, he became obsessed with water, trying to jump in the sink whenever I turned on the faucet."(O'Brien 39). Wesley and Courtney are really great friends. "I set Wesley on the ground and Courtney sniffed him over, then lay down next Wesley as if he were her puppy. From then on, Wesley felt right at home sitting between her front paws, and they would just hang out together" (31).
So far, I enjoy this book, its a really nice and interesting book. It truly is remarkable.
