Bamse
________________________________________
(Angus Whitson  and Andrew Orr)

Bamse is a very fit but gentle male St. Bernard dog who weighs 100 kilograms and almost a meter tall. "St. Bernards, or Saints, as they are affectionately known, are one of the most readily recognisable breeds of dog and one of the largest. Although they are gentle-natured dogs and make ideal pets, it takes a particular type of person or family to take on responsebility for a Saint, as they must be prepared to make room in their lives and home for a very bulky addition." (Whitson and Orr 12)

Bamse was a very brave "life-saver" who enjoyed human company and social events: "Although he was a social dog who enjoyed human company, and there were a few things he liked better than a good night out, he also had a strong  musical streek hidden inside his great frame , and an evening which included music was a special event." (Whitson and Orr 88).
