Title: The Lottery

The I am reading doesn't have many character. The main character is Sal. She is very nice girl who in the story gets picked as the winner of the lottery. She is afraid and scared in the story because she wins the lottery. From now on she will have to be alone every day. " Sal's mouth swallowed itself, her heart skipped a double beat, and lid of her clarinet case slipped against her suddenly sweaty hands as she lowered it and snapped the latches". Page 2. This shows how frightened Sal is. Also, Sal is curious. She wants to know everything that happening. On page 19 Sal shows how curious she is. " Suddenly curious, Sal held up the back of her hand and squinted at it. She could see nothing of interest, just a plethora of small blond hairs, another plethora of small brown freckles, and three or four bumpy blue veins." Lastly, Sal is mysterious and smart at the same time. In the story, when she gets picked for the lottery does a great job hiding the small paper so no one would see it. "Balling the ribbon tightly in her fist, she worked up a good spit, gagged, and got it down." Page 10. This is also a great example of the qualities Sal has. In conclusion, Sal is a great character in the story that has many characteristics such as; curiosity, intelligence.....
