When the wall came down

The author of this book is Serge Schmemann he is 67 year old and is french. There are 113 pages in the book. Well in this story you can't really find the main  character as it talks about Germany as a whole country and how they broke the wall down etc... If I had to choose I think that the author is probably the character who is mostly described in this book. Serge is now quite old he was white hair and some black left from his original color he has a mustache and a beard, he wears glasses.I can tell that he is opinionated as he gives his own view about what was going on at the time he was writing about. E.g. from page 65: Some economists argue today that the currency exchange was a huge mistake. Other say it was the most practical way to quickly unite the East and West Germans economies. Personally, I cannot see that there was much choice at the time. He is also thinks logically, from other peoples perspectives. E.G. from page 65: Why would East Germans have stayed home if that meant working for far lower wages that they could get in the west?
