Best Friends by Jacqueline Wilson

Best Friends
Author: Jacqueline Wilson
Number of Pages: 223

This week I read a fiction book called Best Friends by Jacqueline Wilson. This novel is set in England. It is about how two girls are inseparable. They are the best friends, even though they both have completely different personalities. They were born in the same hospital on the same day and have always been close. They went to the same school Alice is the girly girl who loves to dress up and look pretty, whilst Gemma is a tomboy who doesn't mind getting messy and dirty and loves to have fun! Gemma is left heart broken when she finds out that Alice's parents make a big decision. Her family decides to move all the way to Scotland. Gemma cries as hard as she ever has and is extremely upset and so is Gemma but she has to realize that nothing will be able to change the situation. She will have to live on without Alice and know that she will make knew friends and will also have to move on. This story is very sorrowful but also very enjoyable and happy at the same time.

"Alice and I are best friends. I've known her all my life." I chose this quote because even though these two sentences don't explain very much it still vaguely explains that Alice and Gemma are best friends and have known each other ever since they were born, which is mainly what this book is based on and what I talked about in the previous paragraph.
